Week 3: Training and Review

Day 21: Week 3 Review

Day 21 of 2818 minGoal - Learn - Example - Practice - Checkpoint

Goal

Summarize why SignLLM work takes many hours.

Learn

  • The slow part is not only model training. It is capture, cleanup, annotation, inspection, correction, retraining, and evaluation.
  • A responsible pipeline treats review notes as part of the data, not as afterthoughts.
  • The more public or high-impact the system is, the more review it needs before anyone relies on it.

Example

  • A single accepted sample may require consent check, clip trim, pose extraction, gloss review, visual QA, metadata update, split assignment, and later evaluation.
  • That is why a small honest prototype can take serious time.

Practice

  1. Write a short paragraph titled Why this is hard.
  2. Mention at least four kinds of human work behind the model.

Checkpoint

Before moving on

You can explain the human labor behind sign-language AI in a public, honest way.

Deaf-first note

Deaf-first note

Do not erase the people doing language, consent, review, and correction work. They are part of the system quality.
