Week 2: Everyday Use

Day 10: Research with AI

Day 10 of 2815 minGoal - Learn - Example - Practice - Checkpoint

Goal

Understand the difference between chat answers and source-backed research.

Learn

Some assistants can search the web, cite sources, or summarize documents. Others answer from model memory. For current facts, law, medicine, products, pricing, and news, use source-backed workflows. Good research prompts ask for sources, dates, uncertainty, and opposing evidence.

Behind the scenes
AI tools are products wrapped around models, data, prompts, retrieval, safety systems, and user interfaces. The better you understand the wrapper, the better your results get.

Example

For a current product price, ask for official sources and dates instead of trusting a plain chat answer.

Practice

Research one current AI tool. Require official sources first, then ask for a plain-English summary and limitations.

Checkpoint

Checkpoint
You know when a chatbot answer is not enough.
